Thought it would be fun to put all of Benjamin’s Camping Shorts from this trip in one place (other than on YouTube). These Shorts were a were my way of processing that trip in milliseconds and really enjoying that moment. I feel like that day was an entire weekend and I loved every minute of it.
Arrival and Set Up
Getting to the location was pretty smooth, we left on a Saturday morning so traffic wasn’t too bad. Benjamin who is typically nervous on the road seemed to tolerate the ride well. Once we got to our campsite at Mitchell Landing Campground we set up basecamp. Our tent went up in minutes and our air mattress has a built in motor. It is “wall powered” but we had our handy Jackery Portable Power Station and that had more than enough power.
Exploring Into Sunset
With Basecamp set up we explored the campgrounds. We saw the airboat landing area, found the bathrooms. Before heading out to explore outside the campground we made some lunch. After that it was off to check out some trails. We went down two trails, one being Tree Snail Trail. While out there we found some Gators and saw some of the native birdlife. We ended up taking a nap before heading out to catch sunset in the coolest spot possible.
